Missinthen, sorry I wouldn't be able to confirm that. I moved to Tonopah, Nevada in 1983 then on to Reno in 1985.

wolfcreek, my dad was head of the cost dept at Delco Moraine in the 60's and 70's Every Christmas there was a party at the plant. Santa, candy, gifts. I still remember a stuffed animal I got and the hard candy in a christmas decorated box that was out of this world. Dayton was truly a GM town. I worked in the accounting department for all the divisions from 1973 to 1983. How sad it was to see Dayton die once the automotive industry left. Funny, I don't remember the show at Memorial Hall. What division of GM sponsored it?

wolfcreek -I remember the Delco Christmas shows from the early 60s. I recall a stage show and getting a present. I ran across a photo from an old Delco newsletter sometime ago. My brother and I also had our picture in a newsletter looking up the chimney for Santa!

Went to High School (CJ) in the mid 70's right after the merger with Julienne and St. Joe's. Also rode the bus (#12) downtown through the 60's as well. Everything was downtown for us. Shopping, Doctor's, Dentist, school, music (droms) lessons from Goerge Lewber at Hauers' in the basement. Going to Frisch's with a $1.00 and getting three pancakes for $.55 and a milk for $.15 rest was tip. Flying Pizza after school and music rehearsals when we held our Spring concert at the Victory Theater (as it was still called back then. Downtown Dayton Days and then later, the "Affair on the Square" events. Saw Pat Benatar, McGuffey Lane...so, so many memories of going downtown during my youth.
