I believe there were two in our area; one in Kettering on Bigger Road where Victoria's Secret call center is, and another on Woodman which I think has a STEM school at its location.
There was also a Rink's in Trotwood (then Madison Twp.) on Salem Ave right at the split for Salem and Shiloh Springs. There was a Grey Drug (I think) next door to it. There was a small breezeway between the two stores. you could go from one to the other without going outside. I haven't a clue if the building is still there anymore.
RichC: You are right, sort of. Rinks on woodman turned into a Hills department store and is where the goodwill store is at today. And the Value City you mentioned used to be a Gold Circle. I had a relative that worked at Gold Circle so thats how I know that. Your right about the bigger road place But I bet you didnt know that for a short period of time there was another store in Kettering. When the local Ontario stores were sold they turned into Rinks for a brief time then finally they were closed. Last time I looked up Rinks, I saw that they were still in business up around the Toledo area.
